What We Do?
Appleseeds helps people living in Israel’s social and geographic periphery join the world of tech innovation and digitization, changing lives in ways big and small.
Technology is key to socioeconomic mobility and increased equality.
That’s why we give our beneficiaries “digital fishing rods” instead of
“digital fish” – teaching them to thrive, digitally independent.
Our organization was founded in 2000 as a bridge between the promise of the start-up nation and the people of Israel’s socio-geographic periphery. Appleseeds creates digital equality in Israel through basic and advanced programs in the fields of technology, employment, and life-skills acquisition in order to help people change their own lives for the better.
Since its founding,
Appleseeds has reached over one million people of all ages and across all sectors of Israeli society. Thanks to our hundreds of team members including instructors, youth group counselors, and industry mentors as well as our strong partnerships with leadership in high-tech companies, government and local municipalities, Appleseeds is able to reach over 80,000 beneficiaries every year.
Employment
We offer a variety of technological training programs to integrate underserved communities into the modern Israeli job market. Course content ranges from the basic skills needed to navigate a digitized environment to advanced coding bootcamps for future programmers. We also provide vital soft skills development and mentorship to ease integration for underrepresented populations into the hi-tech sector. Appleseeds is proud to certify thousands of graduates a year across our various programs.
Education
Appleseeds runs a variety of programs to help advance the technological skills of students in grades 5-12
The Net@ Technology Youth Movement changes the lives of underprivileged young people through tech-skills training and leadership development.
Digital Lifestyle
Appleseeds runs a variety of programs for those taking their first steps into the world of technology, helping welfare recipients, the elderly, and others achieve basic digital literacy.
We know that through technology we can transform lives, and reduce the social and economic gaps in Israel. Therefore, we focus on training, and technological and digital development for our stakeholders.
For as long as technology impacts on social and occupational mobility – we are here.
